Interesting things for visitors to see are Taleju temple, gigantic figure of Kalbhairav (the god of destruction), Basantapur Durbar, and Temple of Kumari (living goddess)

Swoyambhunath Stupa
The world’s most glorious Buddhist Chaityas built 2000 years ago situated on a hillock about 77 meter above the level of the Kathmandu valley. Visitors will also have a grand view of the valley from this spot.
Afternoon sightseeing tour of Patan Durbar Square

The square boasts of many famous sites and unique architecture. Krishna Mandir in the Patan Durbar Square was built to honor an incarnation of Vishnu. Krishna was a favorite among the gopini (cowgirls). His temple is the best example of stone architecture in the World. Scenes from the Mahabharat, Asia's greatest mythological war, are carved on the temple's walls.

Patan Durbar Square

The streets in the Patan Durbar Square area are home to traditional artists and sculptors. Many more temples dedicated to Ganesh (the elephant-headed god), Shiva, Narsingha, Taleju, and others are located at Patan Durbar Square.

Pashupatinath Temple is the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world, lies 5 km east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred lingam, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temple’s existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can he seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple.

Boudha is among the largest Stupas in south Asia. It has become the focal point of Buddhism in Nepal. The white mound looms thirty – six meters overhead. The Stupa is located on the ancient trade route to China. Tibetan merchants rested and offered prayers here.

Today Bhaktapur is known as the ‘open museum’ and a ‘living heritage’. Brick paved enclave of the old royal palace buildings dating back 13th to 14th centuries, artistic temples and exquisite artwork offers a picture of the grandeur of medieval Nepal. Client Reviews

My husband and I went on a trek in Nepal this past August, and we had a fabulous time. It was truly the most unique, beautiful outdoor travel experience that either of us have ever had. For anyone considering trekking in the Himalayas, we highly recommend Raj Tamang as a guide. His company, Responsible Adventures ( and (, is professional and customer-service oriented. We were amazed at the ways that Raj and his employees went above and beyond to make this experience memorable for us. Raj is a 'walking encyclopedia' of information about the culture and history of Nepal, and his confident, welcoming nature put us at ease. He was experienced at facilitating positive, genuine interaction between Himalayan villagers and Western trekkers such as ourselves, and that made all the difference in our 10 days touring the Manang valley. His company offers a service that is truly a cut above the rest.

We can't wait for another opportunity to trek with Raj! Feel free to check out our story and pics at
